Places of interest

The picturesque spa town of Titisee in the Black Forest - famous for the World Cup ski jumping that is broadcast around the world annually from Germany's biggest natural jump - affords visitors a diverse range of leisure time activities throughout the year. In summer for example, the lakeshore and the crystal clear depths entice bathers while the clearly marked hiking tracks quickly find favour with joggers, cyclists and those who enjoy a leisurely stroll.

With a network of cross-country ski tracks, well-maintained slopes and the 1.2 kilometre long natural toboggan run, the colder months draw winter sports enthusiasts from both Germany and abroad.
The pedestrian zone in Titisee is widely considered as one of the most beautiful in the Black Forest's south. Ornate shops selling regional specialties such as traditional attire and cuckoo clocks invite hours of casual perusal and the odd monetary transaction.

The World's Largest Cuckoo Clock

Literally the size of a house, the clock's cuckoo itself is 4.50 m long and weighs in at 150 kg! The mechanism design was taken from a century old example and recreated in a scale of 60:1. Every single part had to be specially manufactured and the project took approximately 5 years to complete. Visitors of the Eble Clock Park in Triberg are more than welcome to enter the clock and examine its inner workings.

Badeparadies Schwarzwald

The Badeparadies Schwarzwald in Titisee-Neustadt promises water galore and pure holiday pleasure. Under the slogan "Welcome to Holiday", visitors (from age 16), can expect to find superlative bathing facilities: 1,250 sqm water, 180 real palm trees and a 350 sqm sauna garden extend a welcome for swimming, having fun, going in the sauna and relaxing. In a soundproofed area right next door in Galaxy Schwarzwald, those eager for action (no age limit) will find an eldorado with 20 water attractions, including 18 hightech slides and a spectacular wave pool.

The section between Hornberg, Triberg and St. Georgen is considered especially worth seeing.

Events in Titisee-Neustadt and local area

Hochschwarzwald-Weihnachtsmarkt in der Ravennaschlucht

Black Forest Highlands Christmas Market in Ravenna Gorge

22nd November to 15th December 2024 (only on weekends)

Visit the mysterious Christmas Market in Ravenna Gorge (Ravennaschlucht), occupying a space somewhere between peaceful hush and savage wildness.

The Höllental (Hell's Valley), which Marie-Antoinette traversed with her bridal procession, and in which Johann Wolfgang von Goethe spent the night, is a valley of myths and legends, but also part of local history. It tells the story of people who have lived here over the centuries.

On four weekends in Advent, this mystical gorge steeped in history is also host to the Black Forest Highlands Christmas Market – with more than 40 stalls offering the finest handicrafts, unusual gift ideas and regional products. Steep, forested hills, the Galgenbühl knoll near the Hofgut Sternen guest house, and the masterpiece of engineering that is the 40-metre high viaduct of the Höllental Railway is the backdrop for this market.
